Sims 2 Brandi Broke Personality Disorder

Maxis didn't put Skip Broke's grave into Sims 2, but you can resurrect him if you have University (unless Brandi remarries) and then kill him again to get a grave. I will say that one of my favorite Sims was Brandi Broke, in the Sims 2, I had her marry Don Lothario and he settled into the relationship quite nicely. (And it's a long story.) And both Brandi's are perfect! But two of my other favorite Sims were Chester, so lovingly recreated by @Lynnwood and Sandy Bruty by @ahhollady. I loved Sandy, gave her. Ressurecting Skip Broke is possible only if you have Nightlife or any other EP that came after Nightlife. That's because you can't find his grave. I don't think that's true.

Tabby has been outside since the birth of the twins, and genuinely nothing seems capable of enticing her indoors.

Sims 2 Brandi Broke Personality Disorder Criteria

I have this habit where I try to keep sims in a similar color scheme to the one they first appear in the game in, just to limit those endless outfit choices from my endless CC download sprees. I’m kinda the same with their hair – Lucy starts life as a kid in an updo, so she remains in an updo, but I wanted one that felt more authentic to Jen’s genetics so that she doesn’t feel so John-cloney, hence these lovely curls.

TABBY IS RE-ENTERING THE HOUSE! It’s a Christmas Miracle! (Cece’s damn onesie seems to think it’s Christmas anyway.)

Lucy: Mom! Let me borrow that swimsuit!

Dreams of impressing Meadow Thayer by wearing a sexy bikini at the Pleasantview High Swim-A-Thon dashed, Luce turns to her tiny siblings.

Lucy: Hey now that I’m bigger, I can throw these little peanuts around! Yo Patty! When you’re older, if you ever look under my bed or read my diary out to your friends, I will murder you in your sleep, diaper-butt!

Presumably everyone in the household forgot about Isaiah Gavigan’s presence because Mother Mary comes marching into the Burb residence, all the way from Viper Canyon. The first thing she does is score minus points with Tabby, so she’s dead to me. TABBY HAD JUST RE-ENTERED THE HOUSE for the first time in five million days.

However, Jen seems to like her because she responds positively to Jen talking about herself, so…

… we have an autonomous hangout on our hands! In dresses! Which means:

Mary: I love your underwear!

Jen: I love yours!

*I* personally love that like most cats, Tabby is insistent on getting all up in the personal space of the only person who’s ever expressed a dislike for her.

I got Mary out of there as quickly as possible because John’s not allowed to have impure thoughts about ANYONE but his beloved Jen, and sure enough, Jen started serenading him.

Lucy: On the one hand I’m glad you guys are giving me this great example of how marital happiness is a thing, but on the other, you’re both the worst.

Lucy: Plus I’m a Knowledge sim, so I’ll literally scream with happiness every time I do homework.

Lucy was lucky enough to transition to a teen on a Friday, which meant that the next morning, a quick use of the buyable crystal ball resulted in a visit from her beloved and very compatible Meadow Thayer, first kiss of so many Pleasantview teens.

Lucy’s still working on her seduction technique.

Meadow: It took me hours to get my hair like this you prick 😡

I’m imagining here that Lucy’s just blurting out the words from her Scope Room interaction clumsily into Meadow’s face, which works well.

Meadow: Meadow *is* hot, thank you!

There’s nothing I love more than the little ‘yessss’ that some sims do after their admiration of another sim has gone well. I’m still not sure which personality points contribute to it, because I’ve noticed that Johnny and Ophelia over in Strangetown do it too, and all three of these premades have pretty different personalities to one another.

Lucy: Hey you wanna see my newly-matured bedroom? The yellow of the walls is nowhere near as lovely as the yellow of your hair.

Meadow: Yeah, flattery is the way to my heart. LET’S DO THIS SHIZ

Lucy: It’s everything I dreamed it would be! We’re married now.

Meadow: Wait, that’s not really how this works –

AUTONOMOUS TODDLER HUGGLING IS THE GREATEST – maybe this signals hope for a rare example of twin BFFs in this game (given they share genetics with the Pleasant twins, it’d be nice to see some harmony; Dina and Nina start out as acquaintances, which is somehow worse than enemies, the Cordials had to leave town because they used to be so shitty to one another, and don’t even get me started on Aldric and Almeric ‘can’t have a conversation without minus points’ Davis).

That hat with its sticking out curls feels like it was designed for Patrick, while I just had to nod to Cecilia’s supernatural transition outfit; she’s essentially dressed as a tiny witch now, all the time. Because reasons.

Wow, I think that’s the longest I’ve ever spent with the Burbs in the 10 years of playing The Sims 2. How about we head somewhere else next, eh? Yeah? YEAH.

Brandi Broke (néeNewbie) is a pre-made female adult Sim residing in Pleasantview, a neighborhood shipped in The Sims 2. She is the daughter of Bob and Betty Newbie from The Sims (who are both deceased at the start of The Sims 2 storyline). She has two sons, Dustin and Beau, from her marriage to the late Skip Broke, and soon after the player begins to play the Broke family it becomes clear that she is carrying her third child.

Brandi and her sons live in a small trailer in an out of the way corner of the neighborhood. She has a hectic life watching her rebellious teenage son Dustin, caring for Beau and steering him away from Dustin's bad choices, and being pregnant with her late husband's third child. According to her biography she is known for being kind-hearted, sometimes overly so.

Brandi is one of only two living pre-made adult Sims from Pleasantview that was not featured in The Sims 3 (the other being Cassandra Goth). Her parents, however, are shown to be teenagers in Riverview, so it is possible for her to be born in-game once they become young adults.

Despite being older than Cassandra Goth, Brandi does not make an appearance in The Sims, nor is she mentioned. Her family tree in The Sims 2, however, proves that she is in fact the daughter of Bob and Betty Newbie.

Life leading up to The Sims 2[editedit source]

At the start of The Sims 2, Brandi and her sons live at 55 Woodland Drive. Upon first entering the game she wears a pink patterned halter top and tight blue jeans, and her black hair is pulled back with a yellow clip. She is the recently widowed mother of teenage Dustin, and toddler Beau. It becomes apparent very quickly that she is also carrying her third child. When the game is first played, Brandi is close to becoming fat.

Brandi does not seem to have very much money, perhaps a result of losing her husband to a pool ladder accident, and therefore losing the income he had brought in. However, she seems to have some expensive items in the house, such as the bed and the pinball machine. She had a job as a Drive Through Clerk in the Culinary career track, but quit shortly after giving birth to her son Beau.

When the family is first played Brandi is 22 days away from becoming an elder. Due to this, some players believe she had Dustin as a teen, which is not possible unless cheats or hacks are used. Additionally, her memories indicate that she was an adult when she had Dustin. The reason for this is because she was created in Create-a-Sim, but an in-universe explanation could be that she had access to the Elixir of Life at some point in her life.^{[n 1]}

Her relationship with each of the Caliente sisters is just short of the friend level, though she does not seem to have much in common with either of them. There is a high chance that Brandi, Darren Dreamer, and Nina Caliente will appear in the welcome wagon in The Sims 2 early in the game, since they are unemployed.

In this image and all other storytelling images of Brandi in her adult life, Brandi has an unused hairstyle. It closely resembles her in-game hairstyle, but the texture is different and the bangs are thicker. Her unused hairstyle is shown in CAS in a trailer for The Sims 2.^[1]

Brandi also appears in the trailer for The Sims 2: Open for Business. She is shown to be paying for something. She and her sons are the only pre-made family in Pleasantview that has no connection to the Goth family. In fact, no one from the Broke family even knows any member of the Goth family.

Brandi's Unborn Son(s)[editedit source]

When the game starts, it is revealed that Brandi is pregnant with her third child. However, due to Skip's genetic file being unlinked, the baby will take Brandi's genetics, and will always be male. Linking Skip so that he is properly linked before the baby is born will result in the baby being born with the genetics of Brandi and Skip, and the chance of it being female.

There is an error with her memories in that she gave birth to Beau after Skip died, yet her third child is recognized by the game as his. Since Brandi could not have gotten pregnant with the third Broke child when she was already pregnant with Beau, Skip could not be the father unless he somehow impregnated her post-mortem. This, however, contradicts a picture in the family album that shows Brandi about to give birth with both Skip and Dustin present.

On the Sims Community Podcast, SimGuru Lyndsay explains that the mistake with the memories is simply due to an oversight while the cloning technique was used because the data for Brandi's pregnancy kept getting lost.^[2]

Dustin and Beau's genetics[editedit source]

Though it can be seen in the family tree that green-eyed Skip is the father of Dustin and Beau, Brandi's memories show memories of a green-eyed Skip Broke and a light blue-eyed Skip Broke. Beau and Dustin both have dark blue eyes. Using SimPE, looking in the Default family shows that there are two Skip Brokes, and the one that can be resurrected has green eyes. (This is similar to Olive Specter and Circe and Loki Beaker having memories of a different Nervous Subject.) So, the mistake here is that the biological father of Beau and Dustin (green-eyed Skip) is the resurrectable Skip, though light blue-eyed Skip, who cannot be resurrected, is in the majority of Brandi's memories. Therefore, the genetics of both Skip's eyes and Dustin and Beau's do not match.
